LipoSonix is in the transition to a manufacturing operation and a cost accountant is needed to support this transition.
The position is responsible for cost accounting function, which includes developing standard costs, monitoring those costs,
rolling those costs, analyzing the costs and variances, preparing management reports, etc. This position also is expected
to assist with inventory valuation analysis, physical inventory counts, cycle counts, what-if analysis, system documentation,
procedural documentation and other functions.
Other duties will likely be assigned and will depend on the experience of the person hired.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Determine standard material costs
- Allocate labor and overhead costs
- Analyze additional costs for outside processing
- Analyze and explain variance accounts
- Analyze and explain cost of sales accounts
- On-going monitoring of costs
- Perform cost roll-ups
- Prepare management reports as needed
- Support several departments in terms of cost information
- Assist with physical inventory counts
- Assist with cycle counts
- Perform what-if and cut-in analysis
- Document policies and procedures
- Document system and work instructions
- Assess risk and internal controls
- Develop processes and procedures with SOX compliance in mind
- Communicate issues and solutions
- Other duties as assigned
Position requirements include:
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Working knowledge of other MS Office suite applications
- Knowledge of Expandable software a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- High degree of organization
- Ability to adhere to, meet and exceed deadline requirements
- Detail oriented
- Accountable for tasks and actions
- Self-starter and motivated
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, cost accounting, finance, or demonstrated experience is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a cost accounting role
- Experience in a dynamic small company environment is a plus
- Experience in a medical device capital equipment company is a plus
